Fruity and wonderfully refreshing
Westmalle's dark reddish-brown Trappist beer, Dubbel (7%), boasts a rich and complex flavor thanks to secondary fermentation in the bottle. Dubbel is characterized by notes of caramel, malt, and fruity esters reminiscent of ripe banana. The first taste of Westmalle Dubbel is a thick, creamy head. When finished, the beer leaves lacy traces in the glass, but the most memorable part of this balanced Trappist beer with a smooth mouthfeel is undoubtedly its long, dry finish.
The name "Dubbel" refers to duplicating the ingredients of the original Trappist light beer that the monks brewed themselves.
